Well-Read SUNDAYS!!

Well-Read Sundays
Book Group

There have been a lot of requests for a non-weekday Classics Book Group.  As a result, The Soulful Cricket introduces its very own SUNDAY book group!  Come read the "Classics" without a commitment to a long-standing book group!  We hope that the Sunday afternoon book group works for better for those of you who can't make week days!!  This also gives you a choice each month as to which date works better for you.

Each month I'll randomly pick a classic from a list I've compiled over the years.  If this classic interests you, then register for that month's group!  The more classics you read, the more of life you "get"!

I will be willing to take "requests" for books on Facebook.  If I get more than 10 folks requesting the same book, I'll add it to the schedule.  Here is the booklist I'm using.

Well-Read Sundays will take place the last Sunday of each month, beginning at 3:00pm.   I will only accept six people, so RSVP as soon as possible!  Plan on two hours.  Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be served.
JANUARY'S CLASSIC:  Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller
WHEN:  January 27th, 3pm
COST:  $7/pp
RSVP by January 18th by email or by calling 610-444-2629.  See our cancellation policy below.

Note:  We do have two beautiful, black labs, so if you're allergic, plan accordingly.  They will be crated and not with us during the group.

Expectations:   It is expected that you have finished reading the book before you come to the book group.  (I know - that seems like an obvious, but I thought I'd put it out there.)  If you RSVP for a particular date, please hold to that commitment as there are others who may have liked your spot.  Please try to arrive about 10 minutes early so that we can start on time.

Cancellation Policy:  If you RSVP but find you can't make it, please let me know as soon as possible as I will be keeping a waiting list.  Cancellations before the RSVP date are not a big deal, since that gives somebody else time to finish the book.  Please be courteous!

WHERE TO GET BOOKS:
I'm a big proponent of supporting local businesses.  Here are my suggestions for finding the book.  The used book stores are, of course, a hit or miss.
  • The Book Shoppe - used book store that benefits Kennett Area Senior Center.  113 S. Union St., Kennett Square.  610-444-6069.
  •  RLD Books - used book store in downtown Kennett Square - 111 S. Union St., Kennett Square.  610-444-8334.
  • Thomas Mancluso Rare and Fine Books - used book store in downtown Kennett Square.  It's a great place, but since he specializes in rare books and maps this could be a miss for our purposes.  It's worth the try, because if you love books this is simply a must-go place.  130 S. Union St., Kennett Square.  610-444-1063.
  • Hockessin Book Shelf - a used and new book store.  She MAY be able to order a new one for you.  She's fabulous to work with.  7179 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE.  302-235-7665.
Call 610-444-2629 or email if you have any questions and ENJOY READING!
